OBITUARY MR ANDERSON EUGENE SANDERS
MR. ANDERSON EUGENE SANDERS,
affectionately known as "Monk" to some and "Ace" to others, quietly slipped away to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2002, at WakeMed Hospital, Raleigh,NC He was born on July 25, 1919 in Whitmire, SC. He was the eldest son of Eugene and Viola Jeter Sanders who along with his brother Fred, Sister Lucille and son Aubrey, Sr. preceded him in death.
MR. SANDERS began his early education at Crosby Elementary School and graduated from Washington High School, where he was an avid football player. Both schools are located in Raleigh, NC. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged after serving his tour of duty in the South Pacific at Okinawa. After serving his country, he attented NC A&T College, Greensboro NC, completing a degree in Vocational Science. Further studies were done at the New York School of Upholstery. Anderson's distinguished career was with the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 22 years.
At an early age. he accepted Christ and was a faithful and dredicated member of First Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC. He served in various capacities until his health declined. He was a Deacon and also Junior Department Sunday School Superintendent (18 years), faithful member of Church Group 10 and the Timothean Bible Class.
Mr. Sanders leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Mrs Bernestine Walker Sanders: his loving children: David E. sanders (Noris) of Cary, Wanda Sanders Morgan (Muallah) of Raleigh: five grandchilden: Aubrey, Jr of Greensboro, Dahoud of Baltimore, MD. Jamenia, Fernando, Sergio: three great grand children, one sister, Eleanor Johnson (Dr. Clemmon Johnson ) of Long Beach, CA: sisters-in-law, Juanita G. Sanders of Raleigh, Robertha Stephens of Fayetteville, Alda Marion Lawson of Durham, Rozia Lloyd (Thomas) of Washington, DC: and one brother-in-law, Willie Walker (Emma) of Bladenboro, NC: two foster sisters,
Dorothy W. King and Mary W. Stewart of Raleigh and Foster sister-in-law, Louise Watson of Sacremento, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
